On the 17th of December 1999, the General Assembly has adopted (in resolution no. 54/120) a recommendation presented by World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth (8-12 August 1998, Lisbon), whereby the 12th of August was declared as an International Youth Day. This day is annually commemorated worldwide so that the world can realize huge capabilities of youth, celebrate their achievements, and plan for a better involvement for them so that they can develop their institutions. This day also gives a chance to employers to reconsider engaging youth in decision-making at all levels.
