Attention to the Library began with the establishment of Supreme Council for Family Affairs when it commenced implementing a group of programs concerning the family and women empowerment in all aspects of life that require having scientific resources of books, periodicals and publications related to economic, social and political issues in regard to women, childhood, youth, the elderly, special needs persons, and the family in general.  Due to that, the Secretariat-General initiated to establish the Library so that scholars, researchers and planners from outside and inside the Council can benefit of that.

SCFA's Library is considered a main information source in SCFA and the most important pillar of scientific research for researchers of both sexes whether from inside or outside the Council. Due to the Council's higher administration realization of the importance of the library to researchers, it has maintained to support and provide everything needed for the services of the library public and to promote the role of the library.
