HE Mr Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Khalifa, Board-of-Directors Chair of Doha
International Institute for Family Studies and Development opens in the Four
Seasons Hotel, tomorrow morning, Thursday, May 15th, The Arab Family Colloquium,
organized by the Doha International Institute for Family Studies and
Development, a branch of Qatar Foundation for Education, Sciences and Social
Development. Over 100 government agancies and NGOs from all over the world will
participate in the Colloquium
Supreme Council for Family Affairs will participate in the opening session,
represented by Ms Maryam Al-Khater, Media and Public Relations Unit Head at SCFA,
with a paper titled "Supreme Council for Family Affairs: A Leadership Vision for
Family Development and Achievements Preserving Identity and Keeping Abreast of
the Era", by which, light will be shed on SCFA's achievements in the family area
with all of its different groups on the Gulf, regional and international levels,
besides the initiatives SCFA has made, and the institutions and centers it has
established by instructions of HH Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al-Missned, SCFA
President
The Colloquium aims at highlighting the difficult challenges faced by the family
today in the Arab world, finding practical plans to enhance and support the
family and at understanding family relationships and their impacts on family
harmony as a whole
It suffices to say that the Colloquium will deliberate many an issue, among
which will be the challenges and difficulties faced by the family in Qatar and
the region at large, as well as the methods and programs which have been listed
by the different countries to promote the family and establish a future vision
for the family in the 21st century, besides the role of NGOs and civil socity
institutions
