SCFA launched on Sunday morning, March 16th, at the Four Seasons Hotel, a saving
campaign that aimed at promoting saving culture in the community through raising
the family's monetary awareness. On this occasion, Ms Noor Al-Mailky, Department
of Woman Managing Director, delivered, on behalf of SCFA, an address where she
stated that by instructions of HH Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al-Missned, SCFA
President, SCFA, in collaboration with the Planning Council, had conducted a
survey of Qatari family indebtedness. The findings of the survey indicated that
over 86 % of indebted families were Qatari. Likewise, SCFA had recently
completed preparing a family general strategy which promoted family rational
expenditure and encouraged saving as a developmental necessity
Ms Al-Maliky announced the launching of the saving culture in the Qatari family
under the motto "Our saving is insurance for our families”. The campaign aimed
at promoting the saving culture in the community through raising the family's
monetary awareness. Ms Al-Maliky pointed out that the entire world was going
through a state of economic inflation that had directly affected the family's
economic situation and budget that it was necessary to work on improving the
family's standard of living, its economic awareness, rationalizing its consuming
norms and increasing its awareness of the importance of strategic planning in
order to meet its goals, then to ultimately guide it to save and invest in order
to achieve what it aspired to Ms Almaliky mentioned that the campaign would
include numerous activities in which the government's different institutions
would participate and that there would be movable workshops in the entire vital
venues in order to raise awareness of the importance of saving, and she wished
that all families and institutions interacted with SCFA so that the campaign
would achieve its objectives
Under the title, "How I read, understand and deal with financial and economic
planning", the Finance Expert, Dr Mehfuz Al-Saadi, PhD in Financial and Monetary
Planning from University of Bradford, UK, delivered a lecture in which he talked
about the methods of saving and the importance of raising the Qatari family's
awareness of saving
