Supreme Council For Family Affairs At The Fair Of The First Gulf Social Work Festival

 
 



Supreme Council for Family Affairs participted in the Fair organized as part of the First Gulf Social Work Festival held at the Heritage Village in the Sharjah Emirate in the UAE, under the motto "Toward Empowering Productive Families", during the period March 15th-19th 2008 under the patronage of HH Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Qassimi, Supreme Council Member, Governor of Sharjah, with the attendance of ministerial delegations of Gulf Cooperative Council and Yemen

The Festival aimed at introducing the status of social work, its importance and the endeavor to integrate it in the area of productive families in the GCC states, and then to coordinate social work and specify its basic starting points, besides expertise exchanging and presenting pioneer experiences concerning productive families projets in the GCC states

Besides, the wing of State of Qatar in which participated a number of institutions concerned with social work included a collection of SCFA publications related to the family in particular and the community at large, and which translated SCFA's achievements. SCFA's section was approved and acclaimed by the public

SCFA's participation in the Fair falls within its care to promote family social work in order to empower families developmentally and qualify them through holding activities, workshops, lectures and participating in social meetings which effectively contribute to awareness-raising and enhancing the value of family social work in the State of Qatar


During the ceremony, HE Sheikha Hessa bint Khalifa bin Hamad Al-Ahmed, UN's Special Rapporteur on Disability and Mrs Monira Al-Missned, Board of Trustees Chair of the Social Development Center in the State of Qatar were honored besides a number of social workers in the GCC states
