In Collaboration With Permanent Elections Committee, Electing Chair And Members Of Qatari Physicians Society

 
 

 

During his meeting at his office on Monday, November 19th 2007, with Dr Mohammed Salim Al-Hassan, Chair of Founding Committee of Qatari Physicians Society and Colonel Abdul-Rahman Majjid Khalifa Al-Suleiti, PEC Member, HE Dr Khalid bin Jabor Al-Thani, PEC Vice-Chair announced that PEC welcomed the mutual cooperation between it and the Founding Committee of the Physicians Society to supervise the election of the Society's members, indicating that that is a cultural aspect which confirmed the concept of democracy and pariticpation that is well established among Qatari physicians

On his part, Dr Mohammed Jabor Al-Hassan expressed his gratefulness to PEC chaired by HE Sheikha Aiysha bint Khalifa bin Hamad Al-Thani for PEC's continuous care of communicating with the different governmental bodies and others to raise awareness of voters about their rights and duties and introduce them to the electoral process mechanisms and encourage candidates to acquire skills of the democratic electoral process. Dr Khalid Al-Thani mentioned that Wednesday November 21st is the deadline for registering in the Society and for voting rights, requesting his colleagues the Qatari physicians for positive interaction in the elections that will take place at 7:00 pm on Friday November 23rd in the Medical Education Center in the Dr Hajjer Ahmed Hajjer Hall and in which election four physicians will be nominated among whom one will be elected to occupy the post of Society Chair and 25 physicians will be nominated among whom six will be elected as Society members

Dr Khalid Al-Thani stated that the founding of the Qatari Physicians Society aimed at encouraging physicians to conduct studies, hold seminars and forums and communicate with Gulf, Arab and international similar societies and to ultimately raise social awareness
