HE Mr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Khalifa, SCFA Secretary-General received in his office on Monday morning, January, 21st, 2008, Professor Joseph Troisi, INIA Director and Trainer of the International Program on Social Gerontology which is currently being held in the Four Seasons Hotel

HE Secretary-General talked to the guest about SCFA, its programs, goals, policy, committees and administration, as well as he elaborated on SCFA's role in promoting the family, particularly the aged group, by means of holding conferences, programs, workshops, and through exchanging expertise with the Arab and foreign states, besides the efforts SCFA is currently exerting on adopting a national plan on the elderly within the Family General Plan which aims at working toward improving and developing the status of the elderly in the State of Qatar and promoting their stature in the community

On his part, Professor Troisi acclaimed the progress achieved by the State of Qatar in the family care sphere, and the significant role played by SCFA in accomplishing that. The two parties discussed the range of joint collaboration in the family area

At the conclusion of the visit, HE Secretary-General presented the guest with a souvenir and a collection of SCFA's recent publications
