H.E SCFA Secretary-general Receives The Delegation Participating In The Events Of The Seminar On Violence Against Woman

 
 



H.E SCFA Secretary-General Mr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Khalifa received, Monday morning, November 26th in his office, the delegation participating in the events of the Seminar on the Study of Violence Against Women in the Qatari Society organized by SCFA. The delegation consisted of Dr Abdul-Latif Al-Sheikh, Bahraini Legislative Council Member, Dr Khalid Said Al-Naqabi of the Women's Federation in UAE, Dr Abdul-Khaliq Al-Abdul-Hay from Human Rights National Society in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Advocate Selma Nasser Al-Ajmi of the State of Kuwait, Ms Sereen bint Ali Mustafa of the Social Development Ministry, Sultanate of Oman, Ms Ferida Al-Musaqti of the Supreme Council for Women in the Kingdom of Bahrain. That meeting was attended by Mrs. Maryam Al-Khater, Media, Public Relations and Translation Unit Head and Ms Noor Al-Maliky, Woman Department Managing-Director in SCFA. Conversation was about the mutual cooperation between SCFA and the counterpart institutions in the GCC States since the Gulf community is one community united by the same customs and traditions

HE confirmed that SCFA is keen on communicating with the Gulf States by means of activities, conferences and forums in which SCFA participated and which were organized within Qatar and in the Gulf's different States. Likewise, HE pointed out the SCFA's huge efforts in the area of reviewing general legislations, and proposing new legislations such as SCFA's efforts in passing the Family Law and in the Family Court Project, besides reviewing the Housing Law. HE explained SCFA's goals, policies, administration and the committees and the institutions attached to it, confirming that by the instructions of HH Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al-Missned, SCFA President, SCFA pays great attention to raise the level of all the family groups, maintain their rights, promote them and protect them. HE added that SCFA has just completed the Family General Strategy and a Group Strategy for each family group, confirming that SCFA, through these strategies, examines the current situation by establishing on the principles of the Islamic legislation and the Prophet's biography and the State of Qatar's Permanent Constitution and the international conventions and agreements and openness to the world. SCFA afterwards lays out plans and programs that ensure the implementations of these principles and conventions

On their part, delegates showed their interest to know about SCFA's forthcoming programs and mechanisms of their implementation, and they indicated SCFA's vital role in the Qatari community and how this is reflected on the neighboring communities

At the conclusion of the meeting, HH Secretary-General presented the delegates with a collection of SCFA's publications
