His Excellency Secretary-General Of Supreme Council For Family Affairs Receives The Special Representative Of United States Department Of State

 
 

 

HE Mr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Khalifa, Secretary-General of Supreme Council for Family Affairs received at his office on Wednesday, September 5th, 2007, HE Ambassador Grover Joseph Rees, Special Representative for Social Issues, Bureau of International Organization Affairs, Department of State. The reception was attended by Mr. Timothy J Fingarson, Political Officer at the US Embassy in Doha, Mr. Steve Rice, Chief of Economic and Political Section at the US Embassy in Doha, Mr. Richard Wilkens, Managing Director of Doha International Institute for Family Studies and Development and Mr. James Turner, Chief Executive Officer at the Rehabilitation Center

HE the Ambassador's visit aims at viewing SCFA's experience in family care and social issues studies, and the different activities and programs organized by SCFA's to upgrade the family's different groups

At the outset of the meeting, HE SCFA's S-G welcomed his guests, pointing out that by the instructions of Her Highness Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al-Missned, SCFA President, SCFA pays great attention and care to the family's different groups through its programs, goals, policy, committees and administration by laying out strategies, conducting studies, organizing different activities and making recommendations about the different laws related to the family and its groups

On his part, HE the Ambassador lauded SCFA's role in promoting and activating the role of the family inside as well as outside of the State of Qatar, confirming the importance of the existence of an establishment that cares for the family in the different Arab countries, indicating the pioneer role of the State of Qatar in this area

During the visit, HE the Ambassador and the delegation escorting him, attended a documentary film show about SCFA and its achievements and goals. At the end, HE S-G presented HE the Ambassador with a souvenir and a collection of SCFA's publications
