culturally through developing the health, educational and economic systems
State of Qatar endeavors under the leadership of HH Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani,
the Emir and the Heir Apparent HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani to
build a modern democratic state where citizens enjoy their rights and
participate effectively in making the future of their homeland and its growth.
Enhancing woman's role and her stature and participation in the social, economic
and political spheres and in making national decisions embody an integral part
of this vision, as SCFA undertakes to execute this task by instructions of HH
Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al-Missned, SCFA President, through establishing
strategies, plans, policies and monitoring their implementation in cooperation
with all the agencies related to the government, the civil society and the
private sector
To confirm this, SCFA marks this year Woman's International Day under the motto:
"Woman is Apt to Decision Making" through announcing the findings of a
scientific field study on the obstacles that restrict woman's undertaking of
leadership posts. The study, prepared by SCFA in cooperation with the University
of Qatar, is part of SCFA's endeavor to promote woman's access to decision
making posts through adopting policies that assist woman to keep a balance
between her family duties and her work responsibilities and build her leadership
capabilities and encourage her to seize the opportunities available to her
On this occasion SCFA calls upon all governmental, non-governmental and private
organizations to seize this opportunity to honor women who exert their utmost
efforts to upgrade our dear country, whether by work inside their homes or
outside of them. SCFA's call includes promoting the culture of respecting and
evaluating woman and place her in the gracious position which she deserves and
which was granted to her by our Moslem religion .
